Martin & Brian’s business specialises in all things polycarbonate; this ranges from polycarbonate breather tape to polycarbonate sheets for greenhouses. We even have complementary polycarbonate samples sat on our desks – certainly a perk of the job. Amongst polycarbonate, their e-commerce store also sells euro cylinder locks. They’ve recently secured a contract with Yale Locks due to their own relentless efforts, combined with our hunger for developing businesses. However, before they invested in PPC and SEO with Climb Online, they were operating on a much smaller scale. They put their faith in us, and digital marketing, with the hope of expanding their business and increasing revenue.
After taking the time to understand Martin & Brian’s business and their industry, we advised that the best starting place was Paid Search and Google Shopping. The polycarbonate duo came on board with us in September 2015 with a budget of £500. Understandably, this was a huge investment for them considering that their margins were low, and they were new all forms of online marketing.
Initially, we found it challenging to substantially increase their revenue. We were kickstarting their Paid Search and Shopping campaigns in October, a notoriously poor season for Varico. Despite this, our personable approach to campaign management enabled us to build a fantastic level of trust with the client, allowing us to test the budget at £1,000. Through our strong relationship, we gained invaluable knowledge about their business and worked closely with Martin & Brian to monitor the performance of individual products whilst we experimented with our strategy. This approach brought continual success and allowed us to further increase our budget over the last 1 ½ years. By May 2017 our budget had increased to £7,000; a 1300% increase on our original £500 budget due to the results achieved.
