Creative & Social Media Intern
It’s Intern Takeover time! During my placement I’ll be doing some digital takeovers on Climb Online to show you what being an intern at one of the fastest growing digital agencies is like.
This blog post will explain my thoughts on the business as a whole and also what it’s like to be an intern here, I’ll be giving you the behind the scenes scoop, so stay tuned… This week was my first week of work experience at Climb Online and I have to say the past week has been incredible!
Before heading into the office on my first day, I had a mixture of emotions, both excitement and nervousness, I didn’t know what to expect. However, once I headed into the office it all changed, the nervousness washed away, due to feeling welcomed and assured straight away by the team who are a group of exceptional and talented people.
My morning commute!
Monday Morning Meeting
After meeting everyone, I was then invited to the Monday Morning Meeting, a motivation session, which gave me a sense of meaning and warmth to be able to work with this team for 6 weeks. After settling in, I was given an array of tasks that was given to me by the social media team, due to enjoying the creative side of digital marketing. With the tasks, they have helped me to develop my skills as well as learning new ones, which has expanded my knowledge for this type of area in digital marketing.
With only being with the company for a small amount of time, I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have had a chance to shadow people within the social media team, as well as being able to create different projects and collaborative pieces with the relating teams within the office. My favourite part of working within the company is to be a part of a professional and friendly work environment and to see the processes that every team goes through to make a final outcome, which has inspired me to be able to expand my knowledge within digital marketing.
Photoshop Training with the Pros!
I have been given a training session about Photoshop led by Sophia Evans, Head of Branding & Design and Christen Brown, Social & Creative Executive, as well as being able to design and create logos for the ‘Intern Takeover’ and making content for the Climb Online social media channels, which I have been finding exceedingly wonderful and fun. Here’s some of the training I experienced below:
The task I have enjoyed the most would be creating variations of stickers, for the intern takeover which helped me see what makes a good appealing sticker for a professional website. However this task was difficult due to do being new to Photoshop, however the team was happy to help, which has made me feel more confident within this new environment.
I am happy with my progress so far and I can’t want to learn more about this company and digital marketing as a whole in the next 5 weeks! To follow my journey make sure you’re following Climb Online on social media and I’ll be sure to post updates!
