We’ve always done it that way

As a Digital Marketing Consultant, when talking to potential clients, I frequently hear ‘we have always done it this way, and it works for us.’ Yes, if it works for you, carry on, as the saying goes ‘don’t fix it if it’s not broken, right. If you look back the 90s, you couldn’t turn a corner without seeing a Nokia phone.

As time is changing all the time, the way people shop, search, find what they’re looking for also changes too. So, as a business owner, you need to make sure that you’re one step ahead of them so they can find you. Something that worked 5years ago may not work now, likewise, something that works now may not work in 5years time. There are a lot of jobs that didn’t exist 10 years ago, but do now, and that is due to the fact that how people purchase goods and services. When I was growing up, when we needed food in the house, we’d have to go to the store, I know, actually leave the house. Nowadays, I don’t even have to leave my seat to get them shelves stocked up.

Digital Marketing is the way forward. Yes, I may be biased towards Digital Marketing, but there are a lot of reasons as to why. With more and more searches occurring on major search engines, you need to make sure you can be found. It’s all well and good having a pretty website, but pointless if people can’t find it. It would be like having a nice shop, selling what customers need and placing it in a middle of field, it will get no visitors.
